DWELL.Earth

A common framework for supporting
Earth-Centered projects.

What is DWELL?

DWELL is an open source Framework created by Dear Wise Earth. Though still in its early stage, it is being adopted by visionary place-makers, educators and creators of all sorts with the purpose to explore whole systems integrity, and the application of regenerative principles under a common language and structure that facilitates agile sharing and fluidity of resources and findings.

Use the DWELL Framework to foster locally-attuned solutions while cultivating reconnection between people and nature.

TIME TO TRANSITION

“You never change something by fighting the existing reality, to change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”

Buckminster Fuller

DWELL Mission

To bridge the paradigm shift

Q:

"HOW CAN A DWELL FRAMEWORK BE OF SERVICE IN THE CREATION OF SYSTEMS CONDUCIVE TO LIFE?"

A:

"BY EASING THE COORDINATION OF context-led PROJECTS THAT FUEL THE COLLECTIVE TRANSITION TOWARDS A PARADIGM UPGRADE."

"HOW TO APPROACH THE DESIGN OF A LAB"

We suggest approaching the design process using the “Dear Wise Earth 5 Step Loop”, that aims to provide projects with the necessary steps for creating socio-environmentally attuned communities. A simple approach yet thoughtfully aimed for creating Labs that wish to repurpose by design our lifestyles and aim to contribute to the collective effort to regenerate outdated social, economic, environmental, cultural and spiritual systems.

I

DEEP QUESTIONING

DEEPER QUESTIONING WILL LEAD TO BETTER A DECISION-MAKING FLOW.

In order to plant a Living Lab a Deep understanding of the purpose of doing so is required. It is not as much as asking one-self the right questions, as it is about creating the conditions for open questioning to happen around and within us. Clarity is our best tool towards a flowing decision making process.
Understanding what allows clarity in governance to prevail is the very first step as we intentionally move towards the vision.

II

BUSINESS &
SPIRITUAL ALIGNMENT

USING TOOLS, PROCESSES AND MECHANISMS TO ALIGN OUR KNOWLEDGE AND SPIRIT WITH FINANCIAL WELLBEING.

Misalignment arises from having a tendency to participate in systems that rewards ‘profit as the purpose’ rather than creating ‘profit for a purpose’. The business|spiritual alignment step must provide exploratory quests into our deepest purpose along with assessment and measurement tools to provide us with the ease and clarity needed to stay rooted along the path of elevating planetary needs while driving economic profits. Thus allowing greater conditions for cash to flow in a healthy manner.

III

LAB MASTERPLANNING

CREATING LABS BASED ON THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE SOCIO- ENVIRONMENTAL NEEDS OF THE BIOREGION.

Each Lab emerges as a solution platform to systemic needs, not only from the organization it belongs to but from the whole bioregion where it is located. Labs with clear goals and objectives are bringing solutions at a greater scale. Giving birth to an organic living masterplan where success is measured not only economically but by the wellbeing of the bioregions ecosystems and its people. With the emergence of each Lab the biodiversity, local community and Living Lab users and inhabitants are uplifted further more in a high frequency co-existence.

IV

CULTURAL PROGRAMMING

KNOWLEDGE SHARING, GAMIFICATION AND ECOSYSTEMIC PATTERN BASED EVENTS, WEAVING HEALTHY CULTURAL PROGRAMS FOR A COHERENT LIFESTYLE FOR THE COMMUNITY.

Year-round offerings of festival style events, workshops, entertainment, and other events that express and embody the individual and collective transitions, rooted in scalable nature-based solutions. Design your cultural programming to weave all the Labs together and programs may include series of conversational summits, art, and participatory laboratories in collaboration with other DWELL users in a diversity of projects. Design thinking of creating information to flow in a natural and seeming-less way.

V

CROSS POLLINATING

OPTIMISING THE COSMOLOGY OF PLACE FOR THE EMERGENCE, SCALABILITY AND REPLICABILITY OF REGENERATIVE LIVING LABS.

By open-sourcing their knowledge through the use of the DWELL DAO, all community members
participate in exponential knowledge growth in
an ever increasing collaboration network across
global living labs, empowering other communities on the path to regeneration of local
economic resilience, environmental stewardship
and successful social and cultural dynamics.
Therefore collaboratively reaching the vision of decentralized hubs that serve the regeneration of the planet through our diversified redefinition of human’s way of living.

THE LABS

Cosmovision & Calendar Lab

Landscape-based calendars, place the human community back into the landscape and anchor the collective knowledge in ways it benefits the whole-system through comprehensive participation. Ecological calendars dictate the best time to eat local, when to diet, when to celebrate and how to best sync with the environment. Guiding our play, habits and ceremonies in an aligned manner with the bioregion.
These Main Labs are dedicated to the study and integration of multiple calendars, thus weaving the traditional calendars with site-specific ecological calendar of plants, animals and stars. It’s all part of culture! Our celebrations, gatherings and agendas should be decolonized and moved towards a flow unique to a landscape tuned culture.

JOIN A LAB

SEEDS, WATER, SOIL & FOOD LAB

Seed LAB

Native crops are endangered. With 90% of the biological diversity lost in the world, now more than ever in history, we need to find innovative ways to empower the trade and rediscovery of native crops.

Water & Soil Lab

Water and soil are strongly related, the wellbeing of one is intrinsically connected to the other. The Soil & Water Lab oversees, researches and implements solutions to restore the watershed and the soil of the bioregion it belongs to.

Food Lab

The Food Lab, works in hand with all other labs to weave a coherent landscape based food and healing narrative that brings us closer to the ecosystem through each meal while bringing people together from the harvest to table.

MUSIC, STORYTELLING, MEDICINE & SENSE-MAKING LAB

Music LAB

Promoting sound exploration, landscape and animal sound recordings, will create a site specific sounds and rhythms library. Giving birth to beats and records that are unique to each landscape, celebrating its uniqueness and biodiversity in every party.

Storytelling & Medicine Lab

Communicating in ways that bring us closer to each others humanity, this Lab will weave together knowledge and healing gifting us back the understanding of the importance of myths, stories, and rituals in order to heal. Re-introducing into our worldview the diversities of reality.

Sense-Making Lab

Sense-making and reframing our logic to fit the fast evolving and uncertain society we live in. All the solutions we may arrive to and experience as right or wrong are subject to the sense making process. This Lab explores this process and exposes new ways of growing out of the status-quo.

MAKERS, VALUE & TECH LAB

Makers Lab

Applied hard skills such as carpentry, metal work, hand-spun textile and stonework are in many places crafts and labours of the past, as they’ve been outsourced to cheaper horizons. And for too long BioGeometry has been ignored. At the Makers Lab we have the opportunity to reintroduce those crafts by putting together designers, creators and real problems in need to be solved in the bioregion.

Value & Governence Lab

Value is a consensus of trade. Understanding it and redefining it is at the heart of the decade ahead and the Living Lab. Our Value Lab understands the principle of multicapital gains and losses, measurements and reporting. Not in a business as usual format, but in comprehensive ways that take into account not only the financial gains and losses but the multiple realms the living lab impacts.

Technology Integration Lab

Focused on Information Technology and its integration with the Living Lab. This Lab explores decentralised systems, new technologies and bio & cyber-security, while i-ducating the community on technological breakthroughs and selecting its integration process.

NEED ASSISTANCE IMPLEMENTING THE DWELL FRAMEWORK?
